Description
This article deals with changes in the structure of the family home with the migratory process, such as its composition and size. The composition of the household is modified and transits from a family nuclear condition, extensive or compound, to a transnational family home precisely from the migration abroad of one of its members, which is characterized by receiving remittances from abroad , generally for subsistence or for housing construction and in some cases for the installation of a business. This type of family homes constitute a transnational field where their members interact between the country of origin to another country of destination to exchange affections, goods and money.En este artículo se abordan los cambios suscitados en la estructura del hogar familiar con el proceso migratorio, tales como su composición y tamaño. La composición del hogar se modifica y transita de una condición de hogar familiar nuclear, extenso o compuesto, a un hogar familiar de carácter transnacional precisamente a partir de la migración al extranjero de uno de sus integrantes, el cual se caracteriza por recibir remesas del exterior, generalmente para la subsistencia o para la construcción de vivienda y en algunos casos para la instalación de algún negocio. Éste tipo de hogares familiares constituyen un campo transnacional en donde sus miembros interactúan entre el país de origen a otro país de destino para intercambiar afectos, bienes y dinero.
