The sermon is a starting point to understand the universe of printed matter in which it worked. This perspective is an invitation to the study of the Guadalupan sermon in Zacatecas. For the period of New Spain, it can be seen in the conventual libraries and in the catalogs and inventories records existing in the Parish Archives of Zacatecas and in the Elías Amador Library, a rhetorical system that edified sacred oratory. The sermon was one of the genres that had greater relevance in that period. It should not be understood only as a dissertation on some sacred passage, but as part of a ritual. The Guadalupan sermons, which gained relevance in the second half of the eighth century, are understood from their cultural reference: the meaning of the Virgin Mary identified as "center", is displayed in the multiple appearancesEl sermón es un punto de partida para comprender el universo de impresos en que funcionó. Esta perspectiva es una invitación al estudio del sermón guadalupano en Zacatecas. Para el periodo novohispano, se puede constatar en las bibliotecas conventuales y en los registros de catálogos e inventarios existentes en el Archivo Parroquial de Zacatecas y en la Biblioteca Elías Amador, un sistema retórico que edificaba a la oratoria sagrada. El sermón fue uno de los géneros que tuvo mayor relevancia en dicho periodo. No debe entenderse únicamente como una disertación sobre algún pasaje sagrado, sino como parte de un ritual. Los sermones guadalupanos, que cobraron relevancia en la segunda mitad del siglo X VIII, se entienden a partir de su referente cultural: el significado de la Virgen María identificado como "centro", se despliega en las múltiples apariciones.
